I worked there for 7 years and I know each of them personally and they still see me from time to time...

In case you didn't read my post, I never said there was no instance of dv, I am certain there was prior to her leaving him. I merely point out that contrary to Elizabeth's claim that he "violated the protective order" there is no criminal charge of a violation. Contempt charges do not equal a criminal one or a domestic violence one. The issue at hand is about free speech. He didn't try to scare her on FB, where is the threat? But this is what happens when gung-ho advocates and judges with a point to prove make more out of a situation than is warranted.

I have done it myself when I first started in victim assistance. Since then, with more experience and a wider understanding of the issues and the law, I have become more objective and I have learned that every situation is different; not every situation is as volatile as the other (though still must be addressed and dealt with to the extent it should be), and most certainly the system is abused.

This instance is one, in my opinion, that is petty and ridiculous. Our court system has better things to do like punishing true, violent offenders and protecting women (and men) who are in real danger, not patroling opinions on FB.

Interesting, I worked as a domestic violence advocate in Ohio and have seen the failure of the police, the court, and protection orders numerous times. If you are aware if the issues of domestic violence as you say you are, then you would also know why women do not call the police or choose not to press charges, even when abuse occurs or when protection orders are violated. For instance, Elizabeth has a baby and may be counting on Mark to continue to provide child support, which he cannot do from jail. This puts the survivor of DV is a very difficult situation- press charged and get the situation on record, but possibly risk being able to afford care for their child.
Mark lost his right to try to scare his Ex-wife via Facebook when he broke the law and was told to leave her alone. He can't threaten her by showing up at her home or by calling her, so why should he be able to in this nasty, roundabout way knowing full well that his lies would get back to Elizabeth if he posted them. I think people are forgetting that Mark is the PERPETRATOR OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE and the laws are set up to protect the survivor from further physical and emotional harm.

Unfortunately men have fallen prey to sexual sins since the beginning of time. Pretty sure it's not the only time Arnold has strayed. I do hope that if enough of these get publicized that men and women will realize the temporary pleasure is not worth the life long pain it results in.
